I'd be more focused on trying to offload our shit rather than buying. The summer is the time for buying.

More negativity.

Already working out how many points we need to stay up?

Sad.

Reports say that Everton hope to secure a new contract for Lukaku, making him their highest paid player on about £100,000 a week.

Rather than waste breath talking about offering Tevez £150,000 a week, Sullivan should make a cheeky bid offering those kind of wages to the big belgian. Probably won't work, but free to try our luck.

It's not like he'd need to score loads of goals for us; it would almost be enough to get him to stop scoring against us.

Re: January transfer window
even though i was met with the old "he'll never join us!" crap, I said i'd have made lukaku our number 1 target. chuck everton 60-70m and give him 150k a week. he's well worth it and scores for fun. much better than wasting millions here and there on untried italians and short-term loans.

Really???

deal

I make him right, at least that is what we should have been trying to do first thing last summer, as soon as Lacazette poured cold water over us, or even before trying for him.

Re: January transfer window
in what world would Lukaku leave Everton and join us?? you need your heads testing.

best we can hope for is an out of favour striker at a bigger club - or start looking abroad. the noises from the club have been about 'premier league experience' so i doubt it will be the latter.

Lily

You honestly think we have 70 million to spend on one player?

Completely agree. Benteke was the player we should of gone for. Proven goalscorer and just about affordable. Still young enough to improve and would of come to us. But many thought he weren't good enough.

Re: January transfer window
I think that's what it costs to get the kind of striker the owners were promising. For the first season at the new place, that is the kind of ambition the club should have shown. If they can't swing that kind of spending power now, it's a damn shame, but they should think bigger than the cut rate loans they've been trying, even if it's more of a gamble.

Re: January transfer window
Lukaku ? people need to be realistic, It doesn't matter how much money we "throw" at Everton , he still won't want to join us. I'd like to get Trippier as a RB but i know those cunts won't deal with us and they'll just fuck us about for weeks

goose 11:25 Wed Dec 21
Re: January transfer window
they can offer as much as they want, but the best players simply wont come here unless they are older or out of favour - both cases are a risk and our owners wont take a £30m gamble. thats why they love a loan.

Lily Hammer 11:26 Wed Dec 21
Re: January transfer window
beat Swansea, and Leicester, and we may well be above Everton as we sterp out to play Man U. Beat them and our pulling power will have gone up considerbaly.

Some big "ifs" there, but the idea that Everton are a much more attractive club than us doesn't really stand up.

Re: January transfer window

you misunderstand me - he maybe will leave Everton but not for the likes of us.
Everton and ourselves fish in the same waters, they got Lukaku when he couldnt get into the Chelsea side - not chance a 'mid table' team would get him now.

he will go PSG or Arsenal or maybe even back to Chelsea.

Reports are saying that we've asked to loan Martial and Rashford?

With the view of landing one

Re: January transfer window
You're more than likely right goose. We missed a trick when he was benched at chelsea, but it's still free to investigate. Tap the fucker up with offers of big wages and the chance to play at an iconic stadium......erm....bound to sway him.

goose 11:49 Wed Dec 21

maybe he has a love of ICONIC floodlights and LED wraps.

good chance of that i reckon Troy - he (apprently) has the same agent as Reece Oxford.

not sure how fit he is though.

InpectaMoose 11:53 Wed Dec 21
Re: January transfer window
We should have a Right Back agreed and in place to be able to sign on January 1st. The fact we don't have someone capable of playing there limits the way we are able to set up.

A forward can follow that.
